While a number of popular boy bands formed in the 1990s, Snow Patrol started making music in combination in 1994, and their tunes are not anything like the catchy pop of the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. Ever since they first determined to form the band, Gary Lightbody, Jonny Quinn, Paul Wilson, Johnny McDaid, and Nathan Connolly have been running exhausting. They are very best identified for his or her hit unmarried "Chasing Cars," even if they have launched seven albums.
Many bands revel in prime and low issues all the way through their long careers, and Snow Patrol isn't any exception. Some news broke lately that proves that there's extra occurring with those band members than fans may well be conscious of. Here's how Gary Lightbody and the other members of Snow Patrol really get along...
Did Snow Patrol Break Up?
It could be nice if each band may just stay together forever with none combating, jealousy, or problems. Unfortunately, that isn't the case for everybody. For instance, Blink-182 struggled and then Tom DeLonge quit, even though fortunately they did reunite once more.
In September 2023, Gary Lightbody posted on Instagram that Snow Patrol is dealing with a huge line-up change. He shared that Paul Wilson and Jonny Quinn quit Snow Patrol.

According to The Daily Mail, Lightbody mentioned, 'Hi everyone, Sorry to be the bearer of such sad news but each Jonny Quinn and Paul Wilson have decided to depart Snow Patrol. We are heartbroken they have decided to leave us however we want them nothing however happiness, good fortune, pleasure, compassion and everything they want in all their future endeavours."
While Snow Patrol is now down two members, Lightbody explained that he, Nathan Connolly, and Johnny McDaid would still be making music together.
What Happened Between Gary Lightbody And The Other Snow Patrol Band Members?
Since Gary Lightbody is the lead singer of Snow Patrol, it makes sense that he was the one to explain that the band is now dealing with some massive changes. It turns out that there might be a specific reason why Paul Wilson and Jonny Quinn wanted to leave... and it's not a happy reason.

According to People, Gary Lightbody shared an Instagram post and talked about how much he loved and appreciated Jonny Quinn. He wrote in the caption, "To be proceeding without him after all this time is very atypical and unhappy as he has been a constant presence in our lives. We hope the whole lot he does in the long term brings him and his circle of relatives, wife Mariane and son Thor, countless pleasure, good fortune and contentment. Loads of love to Jonny and his family."
However, People reported that Mariane Quinn, who is married to Jonny Quinn, commented, “It’s been a f---er. F---ed by you know who.”

Right away, fans wondered what was going on. The Sun reported that there seems to be a problem with Snow Patrol member Johnny McDaid. A source told The Sun that Wilson and Quinn were no longer interested in being part of the same group as McDaid. The source said, “It became totally untenable for them to stay together. There is a bit of bad blood with Johnny as far as some of the band are concerned. But while none of them want to talk about it publicly at the moment, Mariane isn’t afraid to have a pop and say what she thinks. It’ll all come out in the wash.”
According to the publication, Mariane Quinn said of McDaid in an Instagram comment, “The last f***er is a snake though.”

So far, more details of a feud between Johnny McDaid and the other band members haven't come out yet. It's also unknown if Gary Lightbody and Johnny McDaid have had any issues of their own. At the very least, fans can assume that Lightbody might be okay with McDaid since the two are staying in the band. When Lightbody posted about what was going on, he said that Snow Patrol fans can expect an album to be released in 2024.
Lightbody hasn't commented on Mariane Quinn's statement about McDaid. He has alluded to things not being completely perfect all the time, though. In 2019, he told NPR, "I believe we have been thru everything you might be able to get thrown at you in a band. Bands split up in most cases over non-public variations. They'll call them musical differences, but they are typically personal ones. And I think if it's a friendship first then you are golden."
Lightbody told The Daily Mail in 2018 that the band also struggled during their most recent tour. He said, "The closing tour of America used to be very tricky. We have been all simply tired of each and every other’s company. No one may see the funny aspect of the rest to any extent further. We’d been doing album, excursion, album, excursion, album, excursion, album, tour. So on that final one everyone used to be in the heart of a frightened breakdown sooner or later. We sort of swapped frightened breakdowns."

In November 2019, Jonny Quinn stated that he puzzled about the long run of Snow Patrol. He spoke to XS Noise about how there was a long gap between their 2011 album "Fallen Empires" and their 2018 release "Wilderness." This was due to Gary Lightbody having "creator's block."
Quinn instructed XS Noise, "I’m relieved that we are nonetheless going – there was a level when Gary had writer’s block after we all idea we might never play once more. I knew that Gary wouldn’t have the ability to go out and play without doing a new record ever! So there was once a real fear amongst us that the band might be over. I feel the aid that we were given an album out eventually, and started playing once more, was the greatest pleasure for us."

It's definitely sad to hear about Jonny Quinn and Paul Wilson quitting Snow Patrol. As Gary Lightbody explained in an interview with The Daily Mail, the band members have known each other since they were Dundee University students. It took them ten years before they began doing well as a band, and it's a shame that Snow Patrol will likely never play together again.
