Exclusive: Henry Green Opens Up About His Newest Work, And What Fans Should Expect

Singer-songwriter Henry Green has simply partnered up with Christian Löffler for "New Fires" - and let's simply say, it is an apt name for a monitor certain to set digital dance flooring ablaze.

We sat down with the musician to hear extra about the collaboration, the way it came about, and what he's most excited for listeners to remove from it.

Henry Opens Up About The Beginning Stages Of "New Fires"

For Henry Green, a collaboration with Christian Löffler was once a dream come true - particularly as a result of he'd been keen on the digital musician for a while.

"I've loved Christian's music for a few years now, and we'd had brief interactions over social media."

However, the physical distance was once no hindrance to their creative process.

"Even though we worked on the track remotely, I really felt like we were on the same wavelength when writing it."

As for the songwriting itself, Henry stocks that he sat with his concepts for a while, till "Eventually, they formed into more structured parts."

"Thankfully," he chuckles, "Christian liked what I'd tracked."

As an established Christian Löffler fan, the "New Fires" collaboration was a standout enjoy for Henry, in its own right.

That said, asked if he could pinpoint his absolute highlight, he shares that having fan involvement, prior to the release, was a significant plus for him.

"We played an early version of the track live, before the release. It felt really special to step out at a sold out Barbican and perform that track to ears that hadn't heard it yet."

And, for fans who were not there to enjoy that themselves, worry no longer - Henry is excited to do it again one day, with his new tune.

Henry Hints At What He Hopes Fans Take Away From The Track

Aside from "New Fires" being not anything wanting a bop, there may be additionally a deeper which means to it - and Henry hopes listeners will select up on it.

"The track is about finding your place, at your own pace, in an overwhelming and hectic world. I like the idea that 'new fires' are lit everyday, new opportunities and new experiences ... but that there's no right way or right time to feel these things. We all do things in our own way."

"I hope it lights a fire within, motivates them, but also provides them with peace ."

"I'd really like to work with Tourist," he muses.
